About Me:

My name is Nathaniel Aguilar, and I am a multi-instrumentalist in the New York Metropolitan area (formerly in the Washington D.C. area).  I am grateful to have performed at concerts, churches, embassies, fundraisers, established venues, restaurants, private events, parades, weddings, corporate events, podcasts, and much more.  I have been performing for almost 30 years.  If you are interested in booking me, contact me here

The main instruments I perform on include drum set, piano, synthesizer, vibraphone, latin percussion, and found percussion.  Other instruments of which I have a basic working knowledge are accordion, darbuka and guitar.  I have a degree in music from Stetson University.  Additionally, I am a member of ASCAP and am a songwriter/composer.

I lead my own group, Waterside Vibes, consisting of vibraphone, drums, and organ. Check out some videos of past performances.

Blessings Flow is a gospel/CCM group I play and write for with singer/songwriter Dionne Carroll.  Take a listen.

Additionally, I also am a percussionist with Crush Funk Brass, a DC based funk brass group that blends New Orleans, Funk, Go-Go, Pop, and many other styles.

Other artists and groups I’ve worked with include Beartoe, Los Caribbeat, Chuck Holden, Grant Izmirlian, Craig Briscoe and the CB3s, Kim Reynolds, Peter Fields, Barbara Papendorp, David Bayles, Peter Heiss, Patrick Ruffner, Faramarz Aslani, Shahin Baratpour, Cheick Diabate, Mosche Music, Rob Coltun, Ryan Van Orsdell, Patriot Brass, Yusef Kelliebrew, Imperial Cornet Band, Andrew Ehrenzeller, Dish, Buckets and Strings, and many more. I’ve toured the US twice with “The Rock and The Rabbi” (2007) and played percussion for musicals such as: Shrek, Don’t Say No to the USO, Hello Dolly, Annie, Little Shop of Horrors, Seasons of Life, Krazy For You, They’re Playing Our Song, As You Like It, and A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.

I’m also available for recording sessions, whether it be drum set, percussion, or keyboards.

Teaching has been part of my career for almost 20 years. In addition to teaching individual and group lessons, I also facilitate drum circles.

If you are ever in Maryland or DC, be sure to check out Twinbrook Community Church in Rockville, MD. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and grateful to for His grace and mercy on my life. I am happily married to my lovely wife, Margaret, and we have a curious little son who also loves the drums.
